TAMPA THEATRE PRODUCTION PHOTOGRAPHY | BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Beauty and the Beast

Our oldest son loves acting and theater. As we embraced his talents, we fell into a world of youth theatre productions. We realized that it was hard for most parents to get a “good shot” of their child on stage, under the harsh stage lights and using iPhones. Every now and then you also catch someone taking a picture with a flash, which distracts the actors on stage and the audience members around you.

So, Kevin Taylor of Taylor Art Studios stepped in for a Tampa HEAT home school production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. Using our vast experience of photographing athletes during stage routines under similar conditions, we took photos during three showings. This allowed us to know where characters would be so that we can capture that winning shot. We also set up a black backdrop, so during intermission we could catch individual or group portraits of the actors in their amazing costumes.

Parents and guests could sit back and relax, knowing that every actor would have stage pictures taken during their scenes. They was so much amazing talent in this production and we are thankful that we could help make it a memorable event.
